Piastri regresó al triunfo en Bahréin

Piastri back to winning ways in Bahrain

Oscar Piastri cruises to victory at the Bahrain GP, giving McLaren the outright lead in the Constructors’ Championship and placing Piastri second in the Drivers’ Standings It was a perfect weekend for Oscar Piastri at the Bahrain Grand Prix, as the Australian driver secured his second win of the 2025 Formula 1 (F1) season, converting his pole position into yet another triumph for McLaren, who also solidified their spot as leaders in the Constructors’ Championship. Piastri dominates in Bahrain From the moment the lights went out at the Bahrain International Circuit, the McLaren driver capitalized on his pole position to cling to the lead, never relinquishing it until he crossed the finish line. He finished more than 15 seconds ahead of his closest rival, George Russell, who claimed second place, while Piastri’s teammate, Lando Norris, rounded out the podium in third. With this victory, the Australian overtook Max Verstappen in the Drivers’ Championship, placing himself just three points behind Norris, who remains on top. Meanwhile, in the Constructors’ standings, McLaren has started to pull away, reaching 151 points, with Mercedes in second at 93, and Red Bull third with 71. The rest of the field Behind the Top 3, the Ferrari duo featured Charles Leclerc in fourth and Lewis Hamilton—still driving under the red banner—in fifth. Max Verstappen ended a frustrating race in sixth, on a day where both the Dutchman and his pit crew seemed out of sync. Completing the Top 10, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Yuki Tsunoda, and Ollie Bearman secured points. Kimi Antonelli finished 11th, Alex Albon was 12th, Isack Hadjar 13th, Jack Doohan 14th, and Fernando Alonso crossed the line in 15th. In the final positions, Liam Lawson ended 16th, Lance Stroll 17th, and Gabriel Bortoleto 18th. Carlos Sainz did not finish the race, and Nico Hülkenberg, who originally ended in 13th, was disqualified after post-race inspection revealed an irregularity in his car. Cover photo: X (@F1)

Prime Sports dominated Puebla

With Mateo Girón claiming both victories this weekend in Trucks, and Xavi Razo dominating the NASCAR México Series, Prime Sports Racing Team reigned supreme at the Autódromo Miguel E. Abed. The action came to a close in both the NASCAR México Series and the Trucks México Series, following a thrilling showdown in the Commscope 200 Puebla and a spectacular double-header in Trucks. There was no question which team owned the weekend: Prime Sports Racing Team. Xavi Razo, driving car #7, took victory in the main event, while Mateo Girón, behind the wheel of truck #5, stole the spotlight with back-to-back wins. “The Wonder Kid” Mateo Girón Starting with Rounds 3 and 4 of the Trucks México Series, both races had one standout name: Mateo Girón. The driver from Zacatecas arrived at the Autódromo Miguel E. Abed already holding two wins this season, and on Saturday, after qualifying second, it only took a few laps and a couple of yellow flags for Girón to seize the lead and secure his third consecutive victory. In that race, Edwin Arenas defended his second-place position excellently, while Valeria Aranda, showcasing strong technique over the 40 laps, completed the Top 3. But Mateo’s weekend heroics didn’t end there. On Sunday, with the Top 10 grid reversed based on Saturday’s results, truck #5 started from 10th place. Girón’s sharp technique and aggressive driving allowed him to climb through the pack, just like the day before, ultimately capturing his fourth win in a row. He now leads the Trucks México Series drivers’ standings. In Sunday’s race, Santiago Cruz claimed second place, with Roberto Espinosa rounding out the Top 3. Lucky Number 7: Xavi Razo unstoppable in Puebla Turning to the main event of NASCAR México, the 75 laps around the Miguel E. Abed circuit were electric. Right from the start, the duel between Alex de Alba, who had earned pole position, and Xavi Razo, who started third but quickly moved into second, was captivating. It was on lap 17 when Razo overtook De Alba and claimed the lead. Driving car #7, Razo kept battling for the top spot, and after the stage break, thanks to a superb job by his pit crew, he solidified his lead and never looked back. He crossed the finish line to take his first victory of the 2025 NASCAR México Series season, leaving Alex de Alba over three seconds behind in second place. Rookie Eloy Sebastián completed the podium in third. With this win, Xavi Razo now sits at the top of the standings. Los novatos se apoderan de la FP1 en Bahréin

Rookies take over FP1 in Bahrain

In FP1 of Bahrain, six rookies got behind the wheel of F1 cars, in a session where Lando Norris set the fastest lap time. The excitement of Round 4 of the 2025 Formula 1 (F1) season kicked off with Free Practice 1 at the Bahrain Grand Prix (GP). This session was notable for a special reason, as six rookies had the opportunity to drive the top-tier single-seaters at the Bahrain International Circuit. In compliance with the F1 regulation requiring each team to field a rookie driver in at least four practice sessions throughout the season, FP1 in Bahrain saw Williams, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Haas, Mercedes-Benz, and Red Bull each selecting one of their young prospects. From Williams, Luke Browning was the driver chosen for this FP1 session, finishing in 13th place; Dino Beganovic, representing Ferrari, finished just behind the Williams. For Aston Martin, Felipe Drugovich concluded the session in 16th. Ryo Hirakawa, who had previously participated in a practice session in Japan driving an Alpine, ended this outing in 17th, this time at the wheel of a Haas. Rounding out the rookie field, Frederik Vesti drove for Mercedes and placed 18th, while Ayumu Iwasa replaced Max Verstappen in the Red Bull but finished in the penultimate spot during this first Free Practice. Lando Norris clocks the fastest lap Crowning this unique FP1 session was Lando Norris in his McLaren, who set the benchmark with a lap time of 1:33.204. Pierre Gasly took second place, although still far off Norris’ time, trailing by 0.238 seconds. The young talent from Prime Sports Racing Team will aim to repeat the winning formula during the doubleheader taking place this weekend at the Autódromo Internacional Miguel E. Abed in Amozoc, Puebla — one of the most technical and demanding tracks on the calendar 🏎️🔥 Girón, behind the wheel of the #5 truck supported by Reds Comm, Servicios Logísticos Palco, Maeesa, Sardimex, Lex Trade, Toro, Presto, Orpack, Dibagsa, La Flor de Córdoba, Grupo Catraar, Armstrong Armored, Knotek de México, Pipsa, Plásticos Inyectados Raisa, Batalion Seguridad Privada, Pup Care, Palco Consorcio de Comercio Internacional, and Marketing & Advertising, stated he is ready to sustain the strong momentum he’s enjoying this season. “The start has been perfect, but we know the hardest part is coming: staying up there,” he said with determination 💬 The challenge will be double: Saturday and Sunday will each feature a 40-lap race, with a scheduled yellow flag on lap 18, on a 2.590-kilometer mixed circuit where every inch counts. “I’ve always enjoyed racing here — it’s a track that demands total focus. We’ve worked hard and we’re coming in with everything,” said the Zacatecan, who has accumulated 96 points and leads the NASCAR México development drivers’ championship. Girón also spoke about the series’ new tire compound 🛞💨: “We adapted quickly — they have better grip and make the truck more predictable under braking and in the corners. That little extra could give us an edge on such a technical track.” The experience he’s gained, the boost from his two wins, and his familiarity with the Puebla circuit give Mateo a privileged position. Despite the strong start, the young driver isn’t letting his guard down. “Every race is different, any detail can change everything. Focus is everything,” he affirmed. The Puebla round will be a turning point in the title fight 🏆. If he gets through it successfully, Mateo Girón will not only keep the top spot — he’ll take a solid step toward the championship. The Trucks México Series 2025 returns to action this weekend, and the Zacatecan wants the roar of his engine to keep setting the pace in the category 🔥💪

ALEXANDRA GOES ALL IN AT AMOZOC, PUEBLA 🏁🔥

THE PUEBLA NATIVE AIMS TO SHINE ON HER HOME TRACK With the energy of racing at home and deep knowledge of the circuit, driver Alexandra Mohnhaupt is getting ready to take on a crucial doubleheader in the 2025 Trucks México Series 🛻🇲🇽. The stage is set at the always-demanding Autódromo Internacional Miguel E. Abed in Amozoc, Puebla, where the third and fourth rounds of the championship will take place this Saturday and Sunday. The young driver arrives not only with confidence but with a solid adaptation to the truck and a clear goal: to climb onto the podium and, if possible, take the win in both races 💥🏆. Since the beginning of the season, Mohnhaupt has shown significant progress in her performance. Though she currently sits 11th in the championship with 63 points, the Puebla native feels this weekend could be a turning point in her participation in NASCAR México’s development series. “We’re not starting from scratch anymore. This time, we’re better prepared and more adapted, especially because it’s a circuit — and that’s where I feel most comfortable,” shared the driver, who represents the Prime Sports Racing Team 🏎️📈. A DOUBLEHEADER, A BIG OPPORTUNITY 🏁💪 Doubleheaders are often decisive in any championship. With two races scheduled — one on Saturday and one on Sunday — and a format of 40 laps with a yellow flag on lap 18, the challenge will be not just technical but also strategic. In this context, Alexandra’s previous circuit experience could make a big difference. “The expectation is at least one podium, but honestly, we’re going for the win in both races,” she said with determination 💥. The combination of confidence, track knowledge, and strong pace is what gives her an edge. “This type of circuit is a semi-oval with a technical section in the infield. We go into two fast turns and two hairpins. Although it’s not the full layout of the Miguel E. Abed, it’s a track I’ve known for many years. I know it better than the back of my hand, and that can really help us,” Alexandra explained with a smile ⚙️🧠. SPEED, CONFIDENCE, AND NEW TIRES 🛞🚀 Another factor boosting the driver’s motivation is the debut of the new tires being used this season in the Trucks México Series. Mohnhaupt was clear in describing the improvement: “They make us faster and give us more confidence going into corners. I’m sure we’ll be much quicker in Puebla with these tires,” she said. The home race is also a chance to solidify her presence in the category, connect with the local fans, and prove she has what it takes to fight for top results in the rest of the season. Alexandra is one of the few women competing in the series, and she’s increasingly becoming a reference point in Mexican women’s motorsport 🙋‍♀️🇲🇽. SUPPORT THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE 💼💙 In every race, Alexandra is not alone. The driver of truck #95 has the support of a wide network of sponsors who believe in her talent and growth: Expo Cerámicas, Toro, Presto, Atunsito, Sardimex, Pipsa Hub, GP Logistics, Ferrimssa, Cafedoc, Maeesa, Presto Pegamentos / Selladores, Dycinsa, Mobiliario en Movimiento, Hidrolock, La Flor de Córdoba, Marketing & Advertising. Each of them plays a key role in her professional journey, though on the track, it’s her performance, consistency, and desire to make history that take center stage. This weekend, all eyes will be on Amozoc, where Alexandra Mohnhaupt won’t just race — she’ll chase the dream of leaving a mark in front of her home crowd 🏁🔥. Will the long-awaited podium come? Will it be her first victory of the season? Everything will be revealed when the lights go out and the engines roar.

XAVI RAZO WANTS THE TOP SPOT 🏁🔥

CHASING VICTORY IN PUEBLA With a strong pace and the championship lead in his pocket, Xavi Razo is ready to take on Round 3 of the 2025 NASCAR México Series, which will be held this Sunday at the Autódromo Internacional Miguel E. Abed in Amozoc, Puebla—a track where the Mexico City driver has already written memorable chapters in past seasons. With 88 pointscollected over the first two rounds, Razo knows the time to land the decisive blow is closer than ever 📈🏆 DOMINATING WITH RESULTS AND EXPERIENCE 🎯 It’s been a strong start to the season for the No. 7 car. A second-place finish in San Luis Potosí followed by a third placein Tuxtla Gutiérrez are solid credentials heading into a track he knows inside and out. But beyond the numbers, it’s his consistent performance that positions him as one of the top favorites to stand on the top step of the podium this weekend 🚗💨 “WE ALREADY KNOW HOW TO WIN HERE” 🧠💪 For Xavi, racing in Puebla is no small thing. “I really like this track, I have great memories here. I’ve already won on this circuit—not just in NASCAR México, but in other categories too. Coming back is always special,” he shared with a mix of nostalgia and ambition. Razo, who was the regular season champion in 2024, arrives with a clear mindset: take advantage of his technical knowledge and the strong momentum of his team 🔧🏎️ COMMUNICATION IS KEY ON TRACK 🛠️📡 One of the keys to his performance has been the almost surgical connection with his engineer. “What we have between driver and engineer isn’t something you can fake. In Tuxtla, we had the pace to win. Unfortunately, an outside decision—a misapplied rule—prevented us from going all in,” he explained. Still, he’s confident that their teamwork will get them back to where they belong: the front 👊⏱️ NUMBERS BACK HIM UP 📊🏁 After two rounds, the Mexico City driver leads the championship with 88 points, the result of consistency and smart driving. The Puebla race is scheduled for 75 laps or 100 minutes, whichever comes first, demanding a balanced mix of aggression and strategy—something Razo excels at 🧩🧠 STRUCTURAL SUPPORT BEHIND THE WHEEL 🤝🚛 Xavi Razo’s performance wouldn’t be possible without the backing of a solid team. The No. 7 car is supported by brands fully committed to motorsports: Solucion.es, GSC, B Lock Media, Flex Seguridad, Armstrong Armored, Servicios Logísticos Palco, Intercash, Grupo Catraar, Orpack, Compresores y Herramientas Carroll, Pup Care, Palco Consorcio de Comercio Internacional, Dycinsa, Batalion Seguridad Privada, Toro Presto, BYM Industrial, Marketing & Advertising—all under the competitive umbrella of Prime Sports Racing Team 🚀⚙️ CLEAR GOAL: WIN 🏆🚦 The third race of the season is a golden opportunity for Razo to strengthen his lead with a win that has so far slipped away due to factors beyond his control. But if there’s one thing this driver has shown, it’s that he never backs down. Puebla is waiting, the track knows him, and the championship is starting to take shape. The question is: can anyone stop car No. 7 this weekend? 😤🔥

La F1 podría regresar a Sudáfrica en 2028

F1 could return to South Africa in 2028

With an ambitious project in Cape Town, South Africa is looking to host Formula 1 again on a circuit designed around the DHL Stadium, which was inaugurated for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. South Africa is making history with an innovative proposal to bring Formula 1 (F1) back to the African continent. Cape Town has presented a plan to transform the area surrounding the DHL Stadium—built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup—into an urban circuit. This ambitious project aims to return the pinnacle of motorsport to the world’s largest continent, the only region currently absent from the F1 calendar. South Africa last hosted a Grand Prix (GP) in 1993 at the Kyalami circuit, which had been the home of the South African GP from 1967 until its final race in 1993. Now, after an initial bid in Kyalami was rejected, the South African government is backing the Cape Town circuit, designed by German engineer and F1 track specialist Hermann Tilke. The proposed layout spans 5.7 kilometers along the Green Point waterfront. Additionally, Igshaan Almay, CEO of the project, emphasized in an interview with Motorsports the logistical advantages of the venue, including its proximity to the city’s airport and an extensive selection of hotels for F1 fans attending the event. The South African GP could attract an estimated 250,000 spectators over the race weekend. Tough Competition for 2028 This project faces strong competition, as several emerging locations are vying to host an F1 race in the 2028 season. Among them are Thailand, South Korea, and Rwanda—the latter also aiming to bring Formula 1 back to Africa.
