Chivas has announced the departure of Arturo Ortega as head coach of the first team following their elimination by Atlas in the Play-In. Ortega, who took over after Fernando Gago’s exit, led seven matches, recording three wins, one draw, and three losses, including the comeback defeat against Atlas. His tenure was criticized for decisions like starting Javier «Chicharito» Hernández despite his poor performance due to injuries and failing to establish a clear playing style. In an official statement, the club thanked Ortega for his contributions and indicated that a replacement will be announced soon, given the urgency to plan for the Clausura 2025.
