Luka Doncic will play alongside LeBron James on the Lakers, while Anthony Davis will be traded to the Mavericks in a deal that also involves the Utah Jazz. The Lakers will receive Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris, while Dallas will get Davis, Max Christie, and a first-round draft pick from the Lakers. Utah, on the other hand, will receive Jalen Hood-Schifino and two second-round picks.
Despite being sidelined with an injury since Christmas, Doncic remains one of the NBA’s most promising stars. This move also signals a step toward the Lakers’ future, with Doncic as the franchise’s cornerstone once LeBron retires. At just 25 years old, the Slovenian has already been a five-time All-Star. In 2023, he led the Mavericks to the NBA Finals.
