The Diablos Rojos del México announced via their social media that they are beginning the process to list their shares on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), a groundbreaking move for a baseball team in Mexico. While this step does not involve an initial public offering (IPO), it marks a significant move towards a new era of transparency and economic participation in sports. The BMV has highlighted this move as an important step towards reaching the “Major Leagues” of the financial world. As the reigning champions of the LMB, the Diablos Rojos become the first baseball team to seek to be listed on the BMV, a move only rivaled by the Club América’s similar step earlier this year.
