Chicago Bears name Ben Johnson as their new head coach

Ben Johnson, the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator, has been announced as the new head coach of the Chicago Bears following their playoff elimination against the Commanders. Chicago interviewed 16 candidates to replace Matt Eberflus, who was fired mid-season, ultimately choosing Johnson for his outstanding work with Detroit. Over three years under Dan Campbell, Johnson led the Lions to rank first in points per game and second in passing and total yards in 2024, achieving a 15-2 record before falling in the divisional round. The Bears, who finished last in their division with a 5-12 record, aim to improve with Johnson at the helm and Caleb Williams, their 2024 first overall draft pick, leading the charge.
