The ¡VENGA MÉXICO! project was created with the mission of supporting new Mexican sports talents, providing them with a platform for exposure and development. In a country where talent is abundant, it is essential to create opportunities for athletes to stand out internationally and proudly represent Mexico. This program supports athletes in disciplines such as synchronized swimming, archery, taekwondo, gymnastics, weightlifting, diving, baseball, and motorsports, among others. Its main goal is to project Mexican athletes onto high-level competitions, facilitating their growth and attracting sponsorships to boost their careers. 🏎️ MEXICO IN INTERNATIONAL MOTORSPORTS One of the key focuses of ¡VENGA MÉXICO! is the development and projection of drivers with aspirations in IndyCar, the prestigious American motorsports series. Among the emerging talents, Ricardo Escotto stands out as a potential addition to the list of Mexicans in IndyCar, following in the footsteps of legends such as Adrián Fernández, Mario Domínguez, Michel Jourdain Jr., Roberto González, and Patricio O’Ward. In 2025, the IndyCar Series season will feature 17 races, while INDY NXT, its development category, will have 14 rounds—an ideal stage for Escotto to continue his rise in motorsports. 📈 MEXICAN DRIVERS WHO HAVE COMPETED IN INDYCAR Driver Season Adrián Fernández 1993-2003 Patricio O’Ward 2017-2022 Mario Domínguez 2002-2008 Michel Jourdain Jr. 1996-2012 Josele Garza 1981-1987 Rodolfo Martínez Lavín 2003-2005 Roberto González 2003-2004 Esteban Gutiérrez 2017 Héctor Alonso Rebaque 1982 David Martínez 2006-2008 Alfonso Celis Jr. 2018 Bernardo Jourdain 1988-1989, 1991 Daniel Muñiz 1980 Michel Jourdain 1980-1981 Juan Carlos Bolaños 1980 Homero Richards 2005 Jorge Goeters 2005 Carlos Guerrero 1995-1996 Luis Miguel Díaz 2002-2003 🏆 INDYCAR GRAND PRIX WINNERS IN MEXICO Year Champion Team 1980 Rick Mears Penske 1981 Rick Mears Penske 2002 Kenny Brack Target Ganassi 2003 Paul Tracy Forsythe 2004 Sebastien Bourdais Newman Haas 2005 Justin Wilson RuSport 2006 Sebastien Bourdais Newman Haas 2007 Sebastien Bourdais Newman Haas 🏎️ RICARDO ESCOTTO: MEXICO’S FUTURE IN INDYCAR The Andretti Global team has announced that Ricardo Escotto will be part of its lineup in INDY NXT by Firestone 2025, driving the #3 car.
