The Jets have chosen Darren Mougey as their new general manager

The New York Jets have appointed Darren Mougey, former assistant general manager of the Denver Broncos, as their new general manager following the dismissal of Joe Douglas in November after a disappointing 3-8 start to the season.   Mougey, 39, spent the last three seasons as assistant GM for the Broncos and has built an extensive career with the organization, starting as a scouting intern in 2012. He also served as director of player personnel in 2021.   Now, Mougey joins forces with new head coach Aaron Glenn to rejuvenate the Jets and put an end to their playoff drought. The team hasn’t had a winning season since 2015, when they finished with a 10-6 record.   You may also like: Liam Coen Named New Head Coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars Cover Image: X(@nyjets)

Liam Coen Named New Head Coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced Liam Coen as their new head coach after reaching a five-year agreement. The decision comes after a surprising turn of events where Coen, initially ruled out, accepted a contract extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before reconsidering. Coen met with owner Shad Khan and interim general manager Ethan Waugh to discuss the position following the departure of GM Trent Baalke. At 39 years old, Coen becomes the franchise’s eighth head coach, replacing Doug Pederson. This move aims to provide much-needed stability for franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who has experienced coaching turnover in his early NFL seasons.   You might also like: The Chicago Bears have announced Ben Johnson as their new head coach Cover image: X(@Jaguars)

Los Cowboy ya tiene head coach

Brian Schottenheimer Named New Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys

A new era begins for the Dallas Cowboys, as the team hopes to end its long championship drought. On Friday, the “Lone Star” franchise made a somewhat surprising announcement by naming Brian Schottenheimer as its new head coach. The former offensive coordinator becomes the ninth person to take on this role since Jerry Jones purchased the team in 1989. Will the ninth time be the charm? Fans and analysts alike are questioning whether Schottenheimer will finally be the one to change the Cowboys’ recent history of frustrations and lack of titles. The team’s last Super Bowl victory dates back to 1995, and since then, they have failed to reach a Divisional Championship game. This drought is now the longest of its kind, after the Washington Commanders broke their own streak by reaching that stage this past season for the first time since 1991. An experienced coach stepping into a new role Schottenheimer, 51, arrives with an extensive resume in the NFL. Over a 25-year coaching career, he has served 14 seasons as an offensive coordinator. However, this will be his first opportunity to lead a team as head coach. The stakes for Schottenheimer are high. He will not only lead one of the NFL’s most historic and high-profile franchises but will also face the pressure of delivering immediate results to a fanbase desperate for success. Will this decision mark the turning point the Cowboys need to return to the NFL’s elite? Only time will tell if Schottenheimer is the man to lead them back to glory. Cover photo: X (@NFL)

Led by rookie quarterback Jaydan Daniel, Washington advanced to the Divisional Championship for the first time since 1991, capitalizing on Detroit’s costly mistakes. In the most critical game for the Detroit Lions, the top team in the NFC crumbled against a Washington Commanders squad that seized every opportunity. With a stellar offensive performance, the fourth-seeded team in the NFC defied all odds to clinch their spot. This marks the Commanders’ first trip to the Divisional Championship since 1991, back when the team was still known as the Washington Redskins. Commanders Outscore the Lions At Ford Field, defense was virtually nonexistent as the game featured a staggering 76 total points, with Detroit’s mistakes playing a pivotal role in the outcome. The first quarter began modestly, with a touchdown for the home team and a field goal for the visitors, resulting in a 7-3 lead for the Lions. The excitement ramped up in the second quarter, as the Commanders exploded for 28 points. One of these touchdowns came from an interception return off Jared Goff. Meanwhile, the Lions managed to add 14 points to their tally. By halftime, Washington had flipped the script, leading 31-21. In the third quarter, it seemed like Detroit was mounting a comeback with a touchdown that narrowed the gap to 28-31. However, in the final quarter, the Commanders’ offense struck again. Rookie Jaydan Daniel and his teammates dismantled a Lions defense that failed to hold its ground, adding two more touchdowns to push their total to 45 points, compared to Detroit’s 28. The Chiefs defeated the Texans 23-14 to qualify for their seventh consecutive AFC Championship Game and remain in pursuit of their third straight Super Bowl title. Kansas City Chiefs continue to amaze, as their victory against the Houston Texans yesterday secured their place in the AFC Championship Game for the seventh consecutive year. They are now in pursuit of their third straight Super Bowl and, potentially, the coveted three-peat title. The Chiefs will now wait to learn their opponent, which will be determined in the matchup between the Bills and the Ravens. An Unstoppable Chiefs Team The action at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium began well for the home team’s offense. With six points from two field goals, the Chiefs took an early lead over the Texans, who managed only three points from a field goal of their own. In the second quarter, Kansas City extended their lead further with a rushing touchdown by Kareem Hunt. Houston, on the other hand, could only add another field goal, bringing the halftime score to 13-6 in favor of the Chiefs. The third quarter seemed poised for a tighter battle, as a touchdown by the Texans brought them within striking distance. However, with the missed extra point, the Chiefs maintained a narrow 13-12 lead. In the final quarter, Patrick Mahomes took charge, orchestrating a brilliant offensive attack. The highlight of the game came when Mahomes, while being tackled and just inches from the ground, launched an incredible pass without any footing. The football sailed perfectly into Travis Kelce’s hands, creating an iconic moment. After that, the Chiefs shut down the Texans’ scoring opportunities. They added another field goal to make it 23-12. With just 11 seconds left, Kansas opted for a deliberate safety, gifting the Texans two points and setting the final score at 23-14.
