🔹 He will debut the number 67 on his truck and is going for the title
Mexico City driver Rafael Maggio has confirmed his participation in the 2025 Trucks México Series, where he aims to establish himself as a top contender in NASCAR México’s development category. His debut this year will take place on March 2 at the Súper Óvalo Potosino, a track he knows well and where he hopes to start off on the right foot.
“I’m very excited about this new challenge. We come in with more experience and the mindset to fight for the championship” 🏆, said Maggio. “Last year, we were in the battle, but now we’re going for more, aiming for the checkered flag from the very first race.”
🔥 NEW NUMBER, SAME GOAL: THE CHAMPIONSHIP
For this season, Prime Sports Racing Team has assigned Maggio the number 67, which he will showcase on his truck with the support of Armstrong Armored and other partner brands. With this change, the driver is confident that 2025 will be his year to shine on the grid and rack up victories.
“The team has worked hard on preparing the truck” 🚛💨, he stated. “We know we have good pace and that we can compete at the front. The key will be to start strong in San Luis Potosí, a track that is always demanding because of how short and narrow it is.”

🏎️ A CHALLENGE AT THE ÓVALO POTOSINO
The Súper Óvalo Potosino is known for its complexity, as being a short circuit means drivers must be extremely precise on every lap to avoid getting caught in traffic with lapped cars. Maggio acknowledges this challenge but trusts in his experience to handle it.
“When the track gets crowded, lapped cars can be a major obstacle” 🚦, he explained. “We need to qualify well to start up front and avoid trouble. The key will be strategy and capitalizing on opportunities during the race.”
🤝 TEAMWORK WITH MATEO GIRÓN
Beyond his fight for the championship, Maggio will share the team with Mateo Girón, another rising star in the series. Both drivers have expressed their commitment to Prime Sports Racing Team to achieve the best possible results in every race.
“It’s great to share a team with Mateo. He’s a very talented driver, and I think we can push each other to keep the team in contention” 🏁, Maggio concluded. “The competition will be tough, but we have everything we need to stand out.”
📆 SEASON KICKOFF
