Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz defeated Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz in the final of the United Cup to give the United States the victory over Poland. With Gauff’s first victory over Swiatek, by a score of 6-4 and 6-4, the series was 1-0 in favor of the Americans. Finally, in Fritz’s match against Hurkacz, the American ended up winning 6-4, 5-7 and 7-6 (6). Thus, the country of the stars and stripes won its second United Cup title, starting the year in the best possible way for American tennis.
