The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will host the inaugural round of the world touring car championship in 2025.
MEXICO, THE STARTING POINT FOR THE WORLD TOUR
The prestigious Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, known for bringing together the best touring cars and drivers from around the globe, will kick off its 2025 season at the iconic Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on May 2 and 3. This event will take place as part of the SpeedFest, firmly established as the most significant motorsport festival in the country.
For the first time, Mexico will host this competition, a milestone achievement for national motorsport. Additionally, the top 15 drivers from TCR Mexico will have the unique opportunity to compete against the international stars of the championship.
THE ARRIVAL OF TCR IN MEXICO
TCR Mexico, part of the Copa Notiauto, introduced this category in 2024 with the aim of bringing high-performance touring cars to the country. This series has featured both SPRINT and ENDURANCE race formats, attracting passionate drivers and fans alike.
The format of the Kumho TCR World Tour selects the best events each year from over 200 competitions sanctioned by TCR, awarding titles to the most outstanding teams and drivers.
A GLOBAL CALENDAR FOR 2025
The official championship calendar was approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council, featuring eight rounds across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. For the first time, Mexico and South Korea will join as host venues, while historic circuits like Monza and Vila Real make their return to the tour.
