La IndyCar podría volver a México

IndyCar could return to Mexico

IndyCar is very close to returning to Mexico thanks to businessman Ricardo Escotto and driver Pato O’Ward, according to reports. The anticipation for more world-class motorsport competitions in Mexico continues to grow. Following the return of the Formula 1 (F1) Mexico City Grand Prix and the confirmed visit of the NASCAR Cup Series, now IndyCar may be joining the party. IndyCar could race in Mexico next year According to reports from ESPN, businessman Ricardo Escotto, who holds the series license in Mexico, is already in advanced talks with organizers to bring one of the premier American and global racing competitions back to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. The project is planned to take place in late March or early April of 2026, potentially making it one of the first races on the IndyCar calendar for that season. The project is supported by Pato O’Ward The desire to see IndyCar return to Mexico is shared not only by Ricardo Escotto, father of Indy NXT driver Ricardo Escotto Jr., but also by Arrow McLaren driver Pato O’Ward. O’Ward is a fan favorite in Mexico due to his strong performances in IndyCar and his role as a reserve driver for McLaren in Formula 1. His popularity could play a key role in making the project for a Mexico City IndyCar Grand Prix a reality. Furthermore, Pato has consistently expressed his desire to race in his homeland and in front of his people. In an interview, the Mexican driver even mentioned that if he’s given an IndyCar race in Mexico, he won’t step foot in an F1 paddock again. The last time this competition was held on Mexican soil was in 2007, with eight editions having taken place in Mexico City and six in Monterrey. Cover photo: X (@PatricioOward)

QUAKER STATE JOINS THE NEW ERA OF LUBRICATION 🚗🔥

Starting in April 2025, engine lubricants will undergo a significant shift with the arrival of the API SQ/ILSAC GF-7 certification, an evolution in performance standards aimed at optimizing modern engine protection, improving fuel efficiency, and reducing pollutant emissions. This update addresses the growing need for more efficient lubricants as modern engines become more compact and operate under higher thermal demands. Key improvements of the new certification include reduced wear on critical components such as the valvetrain, piston rings, and bearings, as well as better cold-start performance, ensuring oil circulation from the engine’s first turn. 🚀 TECHNOLOGY FOR GREATER EFFICIENCY 🛢️🔬 One of the biggest challenges in the automotive industry is the buildup of deposits and sludge in the engine, which affects its long-term performance. With this lubricant evolution, the goal is to minimize these issues through advanced formulations that keep the engine clean, even under extreme driving conditions. Vehicle manufacturers have driven this change in standards due to the need for oils that not only enhance engine protection but also contribute to energy efficiency. Smaller, more powerful engines require low-viscosity lubricantscapable of withstanding high temperatures without compromising performance. IMPACT ON THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY 🌎⚙️ This certification adjustment impacts not only lubricant manufacturers but also automakers, who must align their specifications to ensure engine compatibility with these new formulas. This change also responds to environmental regulations, as oils meeting the API SQ/ILSAC GF-7 standard will help reduce emissions, contributing to more sustainable mobility. In this context, the lubricants market will experience a transformation, with products that prioritize higher performance and durability, aligning with the evolution of modern engines. As the implementation date approaches, drivers and mechanics must familiarize themselves with the new specification to ensure they choose the right oil for their vehicles. With these advancements, automotive lubrication enters a new era, where engine protection and energy efficiency will be the fundamental pillars of its development. 🚘💡

TOUGH RACE FOR DANIEL SUÁREZ IN MARTINSVILLE

The Monterrey-born driver faced a challenging weekend in the NASCAR Cup Series✨ The NASCAR Cup Series held its seventh race of the season at the demanding Martinsville Speedway🏎️, where Daniel Suárez endured a race full of difficulties behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 #99 for Trackhouse Racing. The Mexican driver struggled to find the necessary pace and finished in 21st place. From qualifying, things got complicated for Suárez, who secured the 33rd spot on the starting grid. On a short 0.526-mile (−846 meters) track, every tenth of a second matters, and the Monterrey native lapped half a second slower than the pole sitter, Christopher Bell🏁. Despite a tough start, Daniel Suárez managed to climb up to 17th place in Stage 1⚡️. However, in the second part of the race, the performance of the #99 car dropped, pushing him back to 26th place😬. In the final laps of the 267-lap race, Suárez tried to regain ground but couldn’t break into the Top 20, crossing the finish line in 21st place, the same result he achieved in the previous race at Homestead🚗. “It definitely wasn’t our day. In Martinsville, nothing is ever guaranteed. The track constantly changes, and today we didn’t have enough speed. The team worked hard, but this is not the result we wanted,” said Daniel Suárez after the race🎙️. Next Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Darlington Raceway for the eighth round of the championship, where Suárez will look to bounce back and secure a better result🌟.

TAYCAN SETS A NEW WORLD RECORD! 🚗❄️🏆

THE LONGEST ICE DRIFT FOR AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE 🌍⚡ The Porsche Taycan GTS has once again made history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous ice drift performed by a 100% electric vehicle. The feat was accomplished by instructor Jens Richter, who guided the sports car through a 17.503-kilometer drift on a 59-meter diameter circuit in the frozen region of Lapland, Finland. 🏁❄️ AN EXTREME TEST IN HARSH CONDITIONS 🌡️🚘 The challenge began on January 14, 2025, under freezing temperatures and rapidly deteriorating ice. On his first attempt, Richter managed to keep the Taycan drifting for 11 kilometers, but worsening track conditions forced the test to be halted. However, the Porsche Experience team refused to give up and adjusted their strategy. 📈💡 For the second attempt, the team opted for shorter studded tires, improving grip and allowing the Taycan GTS to achieve the record-breaking feat. Over 46 minutes, the electric sports car completed 132 uninterrupted laps, surpassing the previous record of 14.809 kilometers. 🚀🏆 TECHNOLOGY AND PRECISION FOR A HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT 📊🛠️ The test was overseen by Carl Saville, an official Guinness World Records judge, and utilized high-precision GPS technology to measure distance and vehicle movements. Additionally, the system recorded key data such as: ✅ Drift angles ✅ Acceleration and braking ✅ Generated G-forces This record highlights the balance, stability, and performance of the Taycan GTS, even in extreme conditions. “The vehicle’s control is impeccable, and its chassis is designed for maximum performance, even on challenging terrains,” said Jens Richter after receiving the official Guinness World Records certificate. 🏁📝 OTHER TAYCAN RECORDS 🔥⚡ The Taycan is no stranger to extreme feats. In recent years, it has secured multiple Guinness World Records, including: 🔹 Greatest altitude change in an EV 🚀🌄 (2023): A Taycan Cross Turismo completed the Xinjiang-Tibet route, achieving an elevation difference of 5,573 meters. 🔹 Highest speed inside a building 🏢💨 (2021): In New Orleans, Leh Keen accelerated a Taycan to 165.1 km/h in an enclosed space. 🔹 Longest drift on asphalt 🔄🔥 (2020): Dennis Retera maintained a 42.171-kilometer drift at the Porsche Experience Center in Hockenheim. A SHOWCASE OF THE FUTURE OF AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY 🏎️⚡🌍 This new record reaffirms the Porsche Taycan’s ability to push boundaries and establish itself as one of the most impressive electric vehicles in the world. Los Cowboy ya tiene head coach

Brian Schottenheimer Named New Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys

A new era begins for the Dallas Cowboys, as the team hopes to end its long championship drought. On Friday, the “Lone Star” franchise made a somewhat surprising announcement by naming Brian Schottenheimer as its new head coach. The former offensive coordinator becomes the ninth person to take on this role since Jerry Jones purchased the team in 1989. Will the ninth time be the charm? Fans and analysts alike are questioning whether Schottenheimer will finally be the one to change the Cowboys’ recent history of frustrations and lack of titles. The team’s last Super Bowl victory dates back to 1995, and since then, they have failed to reach a Divisional Championship game. This drought is now the longest of its kind, after the Washington Commanders broke their own streak by reaching that stage this past season for the first time since 1991. An experienced coach stepping into a new role Schottenheimer, 51, arrives with an extensive resume in the NFL. Over a 25-year coaching career, he has served 14 seasons as an offensive coordinator. However, this will be his first opportunity to lead a team as head coach. The stakes for Schottenheimer are high. He will not only lead one of the NFL’s most historic and high-profile franchises but will also face the pressure of delivering immediate results to a fanbase desperate for success. Will this decision mark the turning point the Cowboys need to return to the NFL’s elite? Only time will tell if Schottenheimer is the man to lead them back to glory. Cover photo: X (@NFL)

Segunda prueba del año para México en Argentina

Mexico’s Second Test of the Year in Argentina

The Mexican National Team will face its second match of the year, where a relatively unknown squad will take on a tough opponent: River Plate of Argentina. Javier Aguirre’s Mexico National Team is set for its second challenge of 2025 against an unusual but high-caliber opponent: River Plate, one of Argentina’s historic football powerhouses. The “Tri” will aim to secure their second victory of the year, hoping to replicate their 2-0 win against Brazil’s Sport Club Internacional. The Monumental Will Host El Tri The match will take place at River’s home stadium, the Estadio Monumental, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Central Mexico Time. El Tri will take the field without their Europe-based players, instead relying on a youthful squad. This friendly will serve as an opportunity to develop players aiming to be part of the 2026 World Cup process, complementing the more established players and those competing in European leagues. Mexico’s Potential Lineup Javier “El Vasco” Aguirre may opt for a lineup similar to the one used in their first match against Internacional, with a few changes to provide minutes for players who didn’t feature in the previous game. In goal, Raúl Rangel is expected to make way for Andrés Sánchez. In defense, Gustavo Sánchez may replace either Eduardo Águila or Ramón Juárez del Castillo, who started as center-backs in the last match. Additionally, Víctor Guzmán might partner with Sánchez in central defense. The likely full-backs are Jesús Gallardo on the left and José Castillo on the right. In midfield, Erick Lira is likely to retain his starting spot, joined by Pedro Peraza and either Elías Montiel or Rivaldo Lozano. Up front, Guillermo “Memote” Martínez is expected to remain as the center forward. On the wings, the right side could feature Efraín Álvarez or Raymundo Fulgencio, while David Ramírez will likely take the left flank.
