ADIDAS INTRODUCES CLIMACOOL SYSTEM TO OPTIMIZE ON-TRACK PERFORMANCE
Innovation and high performance arrive in F1 with adidas, which has developed a groundbreaking solution to combat extreme heat inside the race car. Through its new CLIMACOOL system, the brand introduces a combination of an insulating jacket and a cooling vest, specifically designed for the drivers of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. This technology aims to maximize thermal efficiency and ensure peak performance under scorching conditions.
A SOLUTION FOR EXTREME HEAT IN F1

During a race, cockpit temperatures can reach up to 60°C, causing drivers to lose up to 4.2 kg of sweat per race. Maintaining a stable body temperature is crucial to prevent exhaustion and improve focus. Currently, drivers use ice vests to cool down before a race, but adidas has raised the bar with the CLIMACOOL system, achieving a much more effective cooling process.

CLIMACOOL TECHNOLOGY: THE FUTURE OF PERFORMANCE
The CLIMACOOL system integrates state-of-the-art thermal materials, cooling fans, and a cooling agent developed in collaboration with INUTEQ, a leader in cooling technology. Tests have shown that this combination doubles the efficiency of traditional methods, significantly reducing skin and core body temperatures.
Studies indicate that a lower body temperature improves cognitive function and decision-making under pressure. Additionally, physical endurance increases by up to 25%, which can be a game-changer in the highly competitive world of F1.

DRIVERS TEST THE SYSTEM ON TRACK
The development of the CLIMACOOL system began at the adidas Innovation Lab, where Kimi Antonelli was the first driver to test it. Later, both Antonelli and George Russell used it during pre-season testing in Bahrain, obtaining positive results and validating its effectiveness in real racing conditions. Throughout the season, drivers will continue to provide feedback to further optimize the technology.

EXPERT INSIGHTS
Alasdhair Willis, adidas Creative Director, emphasized:
“Since our return to motorsport, we have been looking for innovations that offer real performance benefits. With CLIMACOOL, we’ve taken a huge step forward.”
Meanwhile, George Russell, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team driver, stated:
“In high-temperature circuits, keeping body temperature under control is essential. When I tested the CLIMACOOLsystem, I knew it was a tool I wanted to include in my kit.”
Kimi Antonelli also praised the innovation:
“Extreme conditions in F1 require advanced solutions. CLIMACOOL makes a big difference, and I’m excited to use it throughout the season.”

A NEW ERA FOR SPORTS TECHNOLOGY
The CLIMACOOL system is part of adidas’ renewed product line, including the relaunch of the iconic CLIMACOOL sneaker, originally introduced in 2002. The brand continues to push technical innovations, designing products tailored to the demands of the world’s best athletes.
Furthermore, this initiative strengthens the strategic alliance between adidas and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, combining the brand’s expertise in elite sports performance with the team’s relentless pursuit of excellence.
With this innovation, adidas reaffirms its commitment to sports technology, providing F1 drivers with tools that can make a difference in the demanding world of Formula 1.
