With Mateo Girón claiming both victories this weekend in Trucks, and Xavi Razo dominating the NASCAR México Series, Prime Sports Racing Team reigned supreme at the Autódromo Miguel E. Abed.
The action came to a close in both the NASCAR México Series and the Trucks México Series, following a thrilling showdown in the Commscope 200 Puebla and a spectacular double-header in Trucks. There was no question which team owned the weekend: Prime Sports Racing Team. Xavi Razo, driving car #7, took victory in the main event, while Mateo Girón, behind the wheel of truck #5, stole the spotlight with back-to-back wins.

“The Wonder Kid” Mateo Girón
Starting with Rounds 3 and 4 of the Trucks México Series, both races had one standout name: Mateo Girón. The driver from Zacatecas arrived at the Autódromo Miguel E. Abed already holding two wins this season, and on Saturday, after qualifying second, it only took a few laps and a couple of yellow flags for Girón to seize the lead and secure his third consecutive victory. In that race, Edwin Arenas defended his second-place position excellently, while Valeria Aranda, showcasing strong technique over the 40 laps, completed the Top 3.

But Mateo’s weekend heroics didn’t end there. On Sunday, with the Top 10 grid reversed based on Saturday’s results, truck #5 started from 10th place. Girón’s sharp technique and aggressive driving allowed him to climb through the pack, just like the day before, ultimately capturing his fourth win in a row. He now leads the Trucks México Series drivers’ standings. In Sunday’s race, Santiago Cruz claimed second place, with Roberto Espinosa rounding out the Top 3.
Lucky Number 7: Xavi Razo unstoppable in Puebla
Turning to the main event of NASCAR México, the 75 laps around the Miguel E. Abed circuit were electric. Right from the start, the duel between Alex de Alba, who had earned pole position, and Xavi Razo, who started third but quickly moved into second, was captivating. It was on lap 17 when Razo overtook De Alba and claimed the lead.

Driving car #7, Razo kept battling for the top spot, and after the stage break, thanks to a superb job by his pit crew, he solidified his lead and never looked back. He crossed the finish line to take his first victory of the 2025 NASCAR México Series season, leaving Alex de Alba over three seconds behind in second place. Rookie Eloy Sebastián completed the podium in third. With this win, Xavi Razo now sits at the top of the standings.
