NO PATO AT THE AUTÓDROMO HERMANOS RODRÍGUEZ 🚫🇲🇽
Mexican driver Patricio O’Ward, a star of IndyCar with the Arrow McLaren team, has confirmed he will not be present at the Mexico E-Prix, scheduled for January 11, 2025, at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. The announcement was made by O’Ward himself on his X account (formerly Twitter), where he expressed his disappointment at not participating in the Formula E event. “I won’t be at the Formula E event in Mexico City. Why? I wasn’t given an explanation, but I think the plan simply fell apart,” O’Ward shared in a video, making it clear that the decision was out of his control.
CANCELED PLANS AND HOPES FOR THE FUTURE 💭✨
The Monterrey native had been considered to perform a demonstration with Arrow McLaren during the second round of the electric single-seater championship. However, the project was canceled, leaving Mexican fans without the chance to see him in action before the IndyCar season begins. “I hope in 2025 we can do something amazing, maybe a show run with the IndyCar, to bring you a spectacular experience and make up for this absence,” Pato added.
A STANDOUT DRIVER IN 2024 🌟🏆
Despite this setback, Pato O’Ward closes 2024 with remarkable achievements. He finished fifth in the IndyCar championship, making him the best-performing driver in the Arrow McLaren team. Additionally, he delivered a standout performance at the Indy 500, securing second place. His next IndyCar season will kick off on March 2, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he aims to surpass this year’s results and continue establishing himself as one of the brightest Mexican talents in international motorsport.
MEXICO E-PRIX MOVES FORWARD ⚡🇲🇽
The Formula E championship will continue its 2024/2025 calendar in Mexico City, an event that has been a staple since 2016 (except in 2021 due to the pandemic). In the last edition, German driver Pascal Wehrlein claimed victory and is currently the reigning champion of the category. Although Pato O’Ward’s absence will leave a void in the hearts of fans, the electric single-seater spectacle promises thrilling moments and a fantastic experience for attendees. Pato’s future and his connection with Mexican fans remain strong, with the promise of exciting new projects and major surprises for 2025.
