Joe Burrow, the quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals, made headlines off the field by purchasing the iconic “Tumbler” Batmobile from The Dark Knight trilogy for an eye-popping $3 million, showcasing his love for Batman.
The “Tumbler,” made famous in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy starring Christian Bale, has captivated Batman fans since its debut on the big screen in 2005. Burrow couldn’t resist its allure. During the first episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North,” Burrow revealed his latest extravagant acquisition to his teammates.
“Did I tell you I bought a Batmobile? I won’t have it for another year, but I bought one,” Burrow casually shared during the episode.
As one of the original vehicles used in the filming of the trilogy, the Tumbler carries a hefty price tag. Burrow reportedly spent $3 million on the Batmobile. However, with a $270 million contract in his pocket, much like Bruce Wayne, Burrow can easily afford his superhero splurge.
While the Batmobile adds a touch of Gotham to Cincinnati, the Bengals’ season is anything but a superhero story. With a challenging 4-8 record, they sit third in the AFC North, trailing division leaders like the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-3) and Baltimore Ravens (8-5). The question remains whether Burrow can be the “Dark Knight” to lead his team into the playoffs, or if this season will end as an unsolved riddle for the Bengals.
