A high-intensity weekend unfolded at the Roar Before in Daytona, where Escudería Telmex Telcel drivers—Sebastián Álvarez, Pietro Fittipaldi, and Tatiana Calderón—faced a series of demanding tests as part of their preparation for the iconic 24 Hours of Daytona ⚡️.
SESSION AFTER SESSION, DRIVERS FINE-TUNE THEIR MACHINES ⚙️🏆
From Friday to Sunday, teams completed a high number of laps on the 5.6-kilometer track, refining the final details for the endurance challenge. A total of seven practice sessions took place—two on Friday, three on Saturday, and two on Sunday—with constant adjustments to optimize the cars’ performance ⛽️🚀.
The #8 Tower Motorsports car, driven by John Farano, Sebastián Álvarez, Sébastien Bourdais, and Job Van Uitert, recorded its best lap at 1:30.899 minutes. In the LMP2 category, it ranked twelfth, eighth, fifth, eleventh, and fourthin different stints, completing nearly 200 laps 🏎️.
“We put in a lot of hard work throughout the weekend. We logged many laps and were competitive. I feel comfortable with the car and optimistic for the race,” said Álvarez 🇨🇴.
FITTIPALDI STAYS IN THE TOP-10 💨🏁
Meanwhile, Pietro Fittipaldi, behind the wheel of the #73 Pratt Miller Motorsports car, teamed up with James Roe, Callum Ilott, and Chris Cumming, achieving his best lap at 1:39.160 minutes. He stood out in the third session, where he broke into the top-10, and like his teammate, completed over 200 laps 💧.
“We put in a great effort and worked well as a team. Now it’s time to analyze the data and plan the final strategy,” said the Brazilian driver 🇧🇷.
TATIANA CALDERÓN ADAPTS TO CHANGING CONDITIONS ⛈️🏳️
Colombian driver Tatiana Calderón, racing in the #66 Gradient Racing car alongside Joey Hand, Till Bechtolsheimer, and Harry Tincknell, faced challenging weather conditions and set her best lap at 1:48.801 minutesduring Saturday’s session. In the fifth session, they completed 53 laps, making it the most productive run for her team🔄.
“Weather conditions in Daytona can be unpredictable, but we worked hard and adapted quickly. I’m satisfied and confident that we’ll achieve a great result,” said the Claro-backed driver 🇨🇴.
