The Philadelphia Eagles showcased their dominance at home, overcoming the Los Angeles Rams to advance to the NFC Divisional Championship game. Saquon Barkley stood out with two remarkable touchdowns of 62 and 78 yards, helping his team clinch their place in Sunday’s game against the Commanders.
A Fiercely Contested Start
In a snow-covered match at Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles started strong with a touchdown, although they missed the extra point. The Rams quickly capitalized, taking a brief 6-7 lead. However, the Eagles closed the first quarter with another touchdown, courtesy of Barkley, who broke through the Rams’ defense and sprinted more than half the field to score.
The second quarter saw only a field goal from the Rams, narrowing the gap. Another field goal from Los Angeles tied the game 13-13 in the third quarter. The Eagles responded with a field goal of their own, but a sack on Jalen Hurts in the end zone brought the Rams within one point, with the scoreboard reading 16-15.
The Rams Freeze Up
In the final quarter, two fumbles by the Rams shifted the game’s momentum. Each recovery by the Eagles resulted in a field goal, putting them ahead 22-15. To seal the deal, Barkley delivered again with a stunning 78-yard run to the end zone.
Despite the 28-15 scoreline, the Rams managed one more touchdown, narrowing the gap to just six points with a chance to tie or win. However, Philadelphia’s defense held firm, preventing any further points and securing a 28-22 victory for the Eagles.
