Canelo Confirms Opponent for May Fight

Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez will face undefeated Cuban boxer William Scull on May 3 in Riyadh. Jake Paul, who had campaigned for the fight, expressed frustration after being rejected, accusing Canelo of choosing his opponent for financial reasons.

After weeks of speculation that YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul might be the next opponent for Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, the Mexican boxing star has made his decision, and it did not sit well with Paul.

Canelo vs. William Scull: A Confirmed Matchup

Canelo will take on Cuba’s William Scull, an undefeated boxer with a record of 23 wins, including nine by knockout. Scull holds the IBF title, a belt that Álvarez vacated last year, making him a formidable challenger.

This fight was officially confirmed by Sheikh Turki Alalshikh, who is organizing four of Canelo’s upcoming bouts in Saudi Arabia. The highly anticipated showdown is set for May 3 in Riyadh.

Jake Paul’s Reaction: Frustration and Accusations

Speculation about a fight between Paul and Canelo came to an end when the Mexican champion dismissed the idea, stating in a video that he “only fights real boxers” and advising fans to ignore Paul’s claims that a contract had already been signed.

Following the announcement, Paul took to social media to lash out at Canelo, accusing him of being a “money-hungry squirrel looking for his next nut,” implying that the Mexican fighter accepted the fight purely for financial gain.
