Week 12 of the NFL ended with the Baltimore Ravens vs Los Angeles Chargers game. In a game where the two teams were very evenly matched, it was the Ravens who ended up winning on Monday Night Football, with a score of 30-23. Week 12 of the NFL delivered intense excitement: the Cowboys defeated the Commanders 34-26 in a nail-biting finish, the Chiefs edged out the Panthers 30-27 with a game-winning field goal, the Bears forced overtime but fell to the Vikings, and the Eagles shone against the Rams. The Sunday action in Week 12 featured thrilling matchups, including the Cowboys’ win over the Commanders, the Chiefs’ hard-fought victory against the Panthers, the Bears taking the Vikings to overtime, and the Eagles triumphing over the Rams. Dallas finds its way back to victory In a heart-pounding final quarter, the Dallas Cowboys returned to the win column by defeating the Washington Commanders 34-26. The last 15 minutes saw a staggering 41 points scored between the two teams, including a 99-yard touchdown return by Dallas’ KaVontae Turpin. This classic matchup gave the Cowboys their fourth win, improving their record to 4-7. Meanwhile, the Commanders suffered their fifth loss, now standing at 7-5.     The reigning champs faced an unexpected challenge What initially seemed like a controlled game for the Kansas City Chiefs turned into a nail-biter against the Carolina Panthers. By halftime, the defending champions held a 20-9 lead, which they maintained for most of the game. However, in the closing moments, the Panthers managed to tie the game at 27-27. On the final play, the Chiefs secured victory with a field goal, finishing 30-27 and achieving their tenth win of the season. The Bears launched a drive that ended in a touchdown and a successful two-point conversion, narrowing the gap to 27-24 with just 22 seconds remaining. Chicago executed an onside kick that deflected off an opposing player’s leg, allowing the Bears to recover the ball. With no time left on the clock, the Bears forced overtime with a field goal. Unfortunately for Chicago, despite winning the coin toss, the Vikings stopped them and later secured the win with a field goal.     Eagles solidify their position as one of the best Finally, the Philadelphia Eagles, with their 37-20 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, established themselves as one of the top teams in the league. The Cleveland Cavaliers team is still on a roll. Now they got their seventeenth victory against the Toronto Raptors by a score of 122-108. With this victory they reached a 17-1 record, being the best team currently in the NBA. Likewise, the Cavs managed to reach a 10-0 home record, something that had not happened since the 2017/18 season. Two of the NFC’s historic franchises face off once again. The Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys will reignite their storied rivalry from the 1970s, this time in a context where the Cowboys desperately need a win, while the Commanders are aiming for their eighth victory of the season. The main event of Week 12’s Sunday NFL action will undoubtedly be the clash between the Washington Commanders and the Dallas Cowboys—one of the “classic” matchups in American football. While these two teams arrive under very different circumstances, and the Cowboys are struggling this season, the rich history of this rivalry always makes it a must-watch game. The Origins of the NFC East Rivalry For over 50 years, the Commanders and Cowboys have been part of the NFC East division, a factor that not only makes this rivalry fierce but also deeply rooted in history. It’s worth noting that until a few years ago, the Commanders were known as the “Redskins,” who, in the last century, were consistently vying for divisional supremacy against the Cowboys.     Though Washington had already established itself in American football, the Cowboys’ arrival in the 1960s and their rapid rise in the 1970s provided the then-Redskins with a direct rival in the NFC East and the NFL at large. With their starting quarterback, Dak Prescott, sidelined due to injury, the team has a dismal 3-7 record, placing them just above the Giants, who are 2-8. This game is essentially do-or-die for the Cowboys if they hope to keep even a slim chance of reaching the wildcard playoffs, though their odds appear slim at this stage of the season. Despite the context, this game will undoubtedly be enjoyed for what it is: a classic NFL showdown.
